The minimum requirements for being in the Lab is that no food or drinks should be brought into the Lab. Because the lab users make all kinds of experiments where liquids and gasses might be used, someone who neglects the rule could have his/her food or drinks being reactant with chemicals or just acquire some of the chemical from an accidental spill. And the consequences could be deadly not only for the individual neglecting the rule but also for other users.
